About Me
Kanye Tomiwa didn't set out to become an eco-artist. He set out to build things.
Trained as an architect, he learned to think in structures, form, and space. But somewhere along the way, he discovered that the most powerful structures are sometimes built from what we throw away.
Six years ago, he began collecting wine corks. One at a time, then by the thousands. Today, he holds more than 500,000 of them, each pulled from a bottle at a dinner table, a wedding toast, a quiet night in. Most people see a cork and discard it. Kanye sees a story waiting to be told.
From those moments, he crafts wall sculptures, cube tables, pedestals, and a distinctive mirror collection, each piece a testament to what becomes possible when nothing is wasted and everything is seen.
His work has been exhibited at galleries and vineyards nationwide, and at institutions including Harvard Business School. His pieces are collected across the country, and he continues to show his work both locally and internationally.
He also collaborates with businesses and institutions to help them tell their own stories through custom cork art, rooted in sustainability and purpose.
Every cork has been touched by a moment. His job is to make sure that moment is never forgotten.
